Savanah is a young Toronto based band that consists of Zacharias Wolf as lead singer, Corey Smith on bass and backup vocals, J.C. Sandoval on Guitar, and George Nikolov on Drums. The sound is largely drawn from all corners of the rock ‘n’ roll world. Listeners, more often than not, associate Savanah’s sound with bands such as Aerosmith, Rush, Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam.
The Band was formed in the late summer of 2006 by founding members J.C. Sandoval and Corey Smith. They played as a trio with a former drummer but because of relocation issues, they embarked on a search for a new member to complete the band. Thanks to the power of the internet, George Nikolov came into the picture. Soon after that, the band took a new step forward and did a minor recording project. From these sessions, it became obvious that in order to complete the band’s sound and add more power to it, a new vocalist would be needed. The internet once again aided the band as Zacharias Wolf replied to yet another online ad. It only took one session for everyone to realize that the band was complete with the following line up. Feeling tighter and more motivated than ever before, Savanah set out to look for a destination where some quality recording could be done. With a little luck on their side, they found a chance to record a two-song demo with a professional Canadian-based producer.
Playing shows regularly in Toronto, the band has entertained the younger and even older crowds at Toronto venues such as The Drake Hotel, The Reverb, The Funhaus, Healey’s and Holy Joe’s. In the future, Savanah is looking to take their musical career a step further by doing more recording work in the studio to add to their playlist , heavily promoting themselves within the city and further, they find themselves hoping for the possibility of one day becoming successful as musicians in the music industry.
